Staining protein bands from SDS-PAGE for immunizing into animals using sodium acetate is a rapid and reversible method for detecting and recovering unmodified protein. Visualization is sensitive and can be accomplished in as little as 3040 min. This protocol was adapted from Higgins and Dahmus (1979).
