Injecting Rabbits Intramuscularly

Although an intramuscular (i.m.) route of injection is a poor choice for mice because they have very little muscle mass, intramuscular injection is a popular strategy for immunizing rabbits. Smaller-molecular-weight antigens will enter the bloodstream for distribution, and larger-molecular-weight antigens will be absorbed into the lymphatic system.
