Intraperitoneal Injections with Adjuvant into Mice and Rats

Intraperitoneal (i.p.) injection is perhaps the most common route of immunization for rodents. It provides rapid drainage into the lymphatic system, which then gives access to the vascular system. Larger volumes of antigen mixed with the widest variety of adjuvants can be injected and are well tolerated by the animal.
