Electro Cell Fusion

The electro cell fusion method uses an electrical field in the form of short, intense pulses to increase the permeability of the membrane. The resulting local perforation of the cell membrane induces the cells to fuse, forming hybridomas. The apparatus used for this fusion technique is illustrated in Figure 1.
